WordPress SEO that actually ranks

Technical SEO, speed optimisation, and monthly care plans for WordPress sites that need to perform.

About indxq — Independent SEO Research

We write guides that
actually explain things.

Most SEO content exists to rank for a keyword. It is produced to a word count, structured around headers that match search queries, and published at whatever volume the content team can sustain. The result is a web full of articles that technically cover a topic but explain nothing useful about it.

indxq was built as a deliberate alternative. Every guide we publish starts with a real problem — a traffic drop pattern, an algorithm signal, a technical configuration issue — and works toward the most complete, accurate explanation of it we can produce. We update guides when things change. We correct errors when readers find them.

We do not accept advertising, sponsored content, or paid links. We do not offer SEO consulting or managed services. The editorial team has no financial incentive to recommend any specific tool, plugin, or agency. That constraint is the foundation of everything we publish.

01 / Principle
No sponsored content, ever
Advertisers do not pay to appear in our guides. No tool recommendations are incentivised. The only reason we mention a product is that it is the most relevant one for the problem being discussed.
02 / Principle
Accuracy over publication speed
We publish fewer guides than most SEO publications. Each one takes weeks of research and revision. We would rather publish one accurate, complete guide than ten adequate ones.
03 / Principle
Corrections are public
When a reader spots an error, we fix it and note the correction. When Google changes something that invalidates our guidance, we update the guide and document what changed.
04 / Principle
We explain the mechanism, not just the fix
A guide that tells you to “add author bios” without explaining why Google’s systems care about author attribution is not useful. We explain how things work so you can apply the reasoning beyond the specific situation.

Two complete guide
series — and counting.

Our guides are organised into series that cover every scenario in a problem space — not individual articles that leave you piecing together the full picture. Each series is a complete diagnostic and recovery framework.

How we decide
what to publish.

01
It must solve a real problem
Every guide starts from an actual problem pattern — a traffic drop readers reported, a technical issue we encountered, a gap in existing coverage. We do not publish guides simply because a topic has search volume.
02
We must be able to verify it
Claims in our guides are sourced from Google’s own documentation, confirmed testing, or observable patterns in verified Search Console data. We do not publish speculation dressed as guidance.
03
It must be complete enough to act on
A guide that names a problem without telling you how to diagnose and fix it is not a guide — it’s a blog post. Every indxq guide covers the full arc: diagnosis, cause, fix, verification, prevention.
04
It must stay current
SEO guidance has a shelf life. We maintain guides when Google’s systems change, when new data contradicts old assumptions, or when reader feedback reveals gaps. Publication is the beginning of a guide’s life, not the end.

    💡
    Topic suggestions
There’s a specific traffic or algorithm problem you haven’t found a clear guide for. Tell us what it is and we’ll consider it for the editorial queue.
